Sike!
I start school tomorrow! For once I have bought all my books ahead of time, and will pick up my parking permit Monday. I'm taking two classes--Folk tales in Lit and Af-Am Lit.
Stephen and I saw CAMERA OBSCURA last Wednesday and it was awesome. In the cab on the way to the show I listed off songs I would love for them to play, and they played EVERY song I wanted to hear, even Razzle Dazzle Rose, which is now a fav of Stephen's--along with Carey Lander aka "Keyboard Girl" of Camera Obscura.
I also got every bit of the house painted, and now I have to hang pictures back up, and I am looking for something about 26x26 for over the couch, and I anxiously await the Hobbled Shades for the windows, hoping they will be done before Stephen's birthday.

Stolen Picture
I got these pics from Stephen's computer. They are cast offs for whatever reason. I am not as picky as he is about pics.
Stephen and me at Lucero 2.09. Not really a great pic of us, but we are having fun even though I am not a big Lucero fan.Shauna and I at the skate park watcing our men ride bikes. Yay. We look cold.
PineCone and I in the backyard. She is really hard to get in a pic because she is always moving.
Where my stuff lives in our bedroom. Actually, I have moved some things around now.
This is Shauna on our couch. Judging from the length and colour of her hair, this pic is kinda old.
Me with a beer I didn't drink, because I am not really a beer drinker. I prefer some white wine with dinner.
Us
Ocean's birthday party, he's 10! We had lots of cupcakes and pizza.

There are no heroes.
Big big big mistake. I don't want to be an English major anymore, but I don't have the luxury of time and money to change my mind at this point. Really and truly, I just want to be done with school, so at this point I degree in 3rd degree ass-hattery would be acceptable. I have been perusing city and state jobs, the ones where all you have to have is a degree from a 4 year institution, and be okay with a drastically less than stellar salary.
So far jobs that I am looking at:
DHS person (whenever I go to the DHS office, the caseworkers always look like some of the saddest sack badly dressed people in the world)
Probation Officer-
Okay, that's all I got.

I thought this keyboard was illuminated
but I looked it up, and that is only on the $1600 MacBook.
I am fully saturated with marriage blogs, like when I was 16 and realized that I had eaten my lifetime quota of Top Ramen, and I have never since then touched oodles of noodles. I don't want to look at any marriage blogs, rings, dresses or whatever. I took the day dream as far as it would go, and although it was fun, I'm done.
Life lately has been harder than I thought it would be, hard grinding pain that I didn't realize existed deep inside. There is no blame.
I couldn't be more bored and lonely right now if I tried. I have to figure out something to occupy my time.

cities i've lived in
I actually lived right outside of St Louis in University City (U-city), which was about 15-20 minutes outside of the city proper. It was a nice city, and there were community gardens, and I would live there again. When I drove into the city, it was about 4 am, and the first thing I saw was the Arch, and it was lovely.

cities I wanna live in 2
I couldn't make a list without including Austin, TX. I never really thought I would ever want to live in Texas, but I was wrong. Beyond visions of Chuck Morris and armadillos, there is Austin. Granted, if it weren't for DP, I would have never even visited Austin, and prolly wouldn't care to live there.
I like Zilker park, and music festivals. However, I think if I were to move there I might open up a decent pizza place. We couldn't find any pizza that rivaled Tomato Head's fare. We tried Home Slice, and it was good, no doubt, but I've had better. Also, I didn't really like Chuey's. I know that is like against a law or whatever, but I thought the food was run-of-the-mill. I know that only I feel this way, and if we lived there I would just suck it up and eat there.
I loved the Whole Foods Behemoth that was located right downtown, and I still crave basil truffles.
Here I am not enjoying Chuey's.
